Hi, Tranquilla here. I am an Italian language professional with over thirty years experience. I have travelled and taught in many countries . Now I am offering my language services on line.
Born in Italy, I pursued a career in foreign languages (English, French and Italian) and obtained a high school diploma at Liceo Linguistico Kennedy in Udine followed by a University degree or Laurea in Modern Languages. An intrinsic love for cultural diversity and desire to ‘absorb the world’, as my parents used to say, made me move to England where I completed a Master in European Business . My aptitude for languages proved to be an asset in the translating / interpreting area of the course where uniquely French and English idioms where used.
At the age of 19, I started as a support teacher for middle and high school students. Concurrently, I was working as an Interpreter/translator for a dental marketing company. The teaching activity bloomed during my years at University in Italy and continued in England where I was assigned to instruct Italian on one to one basis at the University of England and later in schools. In the nineties, I moved to California where I have been teaching Italian in language classes and privately as well as offering my interpreting/translation services to several institutions and companies such as the Italian Consulate of San Francisco, WhatsApp and the Italian Chamber of Commerce.
In my free time, a former avid runner, I have recently switched to hiking. I love biking, yoga and generally all those sports that involve keeping my feet on the ground and might use a ball. Cooking Italian menus and reading bring me joy. Traveling is the spice of life; I practice this activity as much as I can to keep my horizons open. Friends are also important; I tend to cultivate longstanding relationships with people of different background and culture… students included 😁. I am besotted with animals and currently own two adorable cats.
Now that you know everything about me, I am looking forward to exploring “la Bella lingua” with you!
